A visit to the Walnut Hills Restaurant in Vicksburg, Mississippi, is a fabulous experience. As well as having the best Southern cuisine in the South, it is located in an historic 1880s house and the atmosphere is remarkable. The food is meats and vegetables prepared as unique dishes reflecting Southern Plantation Cuisine. Their "Businessman's Blue Plate Special Lunch" is fantastic and popular with most Vicksburgers (voted #1 in Vicksburg Post).
A place you don't want to miss. A full ala carte menu is also available and they have a bar with ambience fit for it’s location on the Delta Blues Highway in historic “Oldtown” Vicksburg.
It is truly “the gathering place” for locals and world travelers alike.
Their Plantation Chicken, Roast Beef, smothered squash, yam pone, purple hull peas, potato rounds, shrimp and oyster Po-Boy’s, and white chocolate bread pudding are signature dishes. The "World Famous" fried chicken was voted #1 Fried Chicken by Delta Magazine.
The service is superior, the atmosphere is unique and delightful, the food is the best Southern cuisine I have ever tasted, and the prices are remarkably reasonable. Don’t miss this place. (Listed in 1000 Places You Must See Before You Die).

Best Fried Chiken I've ever tasted, served with farm-fresh vegetables, and home-made desserts. Truly, a wonderful place. Old South atmosphere and great hospitality.

Fantastic experience! Food is wonderful and service is super. The redfish almondine is the best I've ever had. Coconut pie, too!
